About Us
Reynard Aviation is a premium seating manufacturer specialising in customisable seating products for long-haul airlines. Employing a unique blend of industrial, automotive and aviation design engineers allows Reynard’s to promote an open approach to aircraft seat design whilst complying with regulatory requirements of the industry. The diverse nature of our design team is key to the success of our seating products, enabling us to create radically different range of products which have not been constrained by traditional aviation seating design conventions.
Reynard Aviation was founded in 1998 in order to design,
develop and manufacture a new business class product, J2000, for Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. The seat entered service with Virgin in 2002 and was
installed on Airbus A340 and Boeing 747 aircraft, prior to the introduction of Virgin’s award winning Upper Class Suite, and is still in operation with several
operators.
In 2005 Reynard Aviation Ltd collaborated with
Contour Premium Aircraft Seating to design, develop and manufacture the Premium Economy Super Seat for Virgin which has subsequently been installed across
Virgin’s fleet. The seat has received many accolades and most recently was awarded a Gold Award at the dba Design Effectiveness awards for product Innovation.
Reynard Aviation has recently designed and certified an evolution of the Super Seat which has been selected by Virgin as its Premium Economy product for future
aircraft.
As well as being an
EASA approved Production and Design organisation, Reynard Aviation is an approved Part 145 Repair and Maintenance organisation specialising in the
maintenance and repair of aircraft seating and interiors products. This enables us to provide turn-key solutions to our customers product issues
through the development, certification and embodiment of in-service modifications.
Reynard aviation relocated to new premises in May 2007 and all design, development, production and repair capability is provided for at the one
location, as well as a dedicated static test facility.
